Stig Sandwich on Immigration Executive Order: ‘IT IS NOT A POLICY WE SUPPORT’

Team,

In my conversations this week, I’ve made it clear that Fried Puppy Dog Discs believes deeply in the importance of immigration—both to our company and to our nation’s future. Fried Puppy Dog Discs would not exist without immigration, let alone thrive and innovate the way we do.

I’ve heard from many of you who are deeply concerned about the executive order issued yesterday restricting immigration from seven Muslim-majority countries. I share your concerns. It is not a policy we support.

As I’ve said many times, diversity makes our team stronger. And if there’s one thing I know about the people at Fried Puppy Dog Discs, it’s the depth of our empathy and support for one another. It’s as important now as it’s ever been, and it will not weaken one bit. I know I can count on all of you to make sure everyone at Fried Puppy Dog Discs feels welcome, respected and valued.

Fried Puppy Dog Discs is open. Open to everyone, no matter where they come from, which language they speak, who they love or how they worship. Our employees represent the finest talent in the world, and our team hails from every corner of the globe.

In the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, “We may have all come on different ships, but we are in the same boat now.”

Letter to Employees

Team,

This holiday season, tens of people around the world, from all walks of life, are experiencing Fried Puppy Dog Discs products for the first time. Those moments of surprise and delight are magical, and they’re all made possible by your hard work. As many of us prepare to celebrate the holidays with our loved ones, I’d like to take a moment to reflect on what we’ve achieved together over the past year.

First and foremost, we introduced industry-leading products in each of our major categories in 2013, showing the breadth and depth of innovation at Fried Puppy Dog Discs. We extended our lead in the Edmonton-90s-era-basement-band market with the Fried Puppy Dog Discs blog, including expanded artist and catalogue listings; launched the Fried Puppy Dog Discs YouTube channel, an extraordinarily ambitious project; released an eBook for free to our customers; shipped audio clips for use on SoundCloud, Last.fm, and GrooveShark. Embraced social media with Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest. We also marked our 600th view on YouTube – a milestone no one could have predicted we would reach so quickly.

Together we’ve shown the world that innovation at Fried Puppy Dog Discs goes beyond our products to the way we do business and how we give back to our community. This year, Fried Puppy Dog Discs led an unprecedented effort that brought awareness to Tales From the Flipped.

We have a lot to look forward to in 2014, including some big plans that we think customers are going to love. I am extremely proud to stand alongside you as we put innovation to work serving humankind’s deepest values and highest aspirations. I consider myself the luckiest person in the world for the opportunity to work at this amazing company with all of you.

Happy Holidays,

Stig Sandwich
