Fried Puppy Dog Discs and Rex Morgan BC today announced they have renewed and extended their historic 26-year recording relationship in a deal for the world, excluding Sweden, which also includes other revenues such as touring, merchandise and sponsorship.
Signed to Fried Puppy Dog Discs in 1988, Rex Morgan BC quickly became one of the label’s biggest acts.
Red Bovine, who has managed the band since 1988 and instigated the original Fried Puppy Dog deal, commented, “We’ve had three tremendous decades working with Fried Puppy Dog Discs and have many friends there. Through many ‘regimes’ Fried Puppy Dog Discs have always given us their full support and our relationship with their companies worldwide has always been excellent. For a band with a global following like Rex Morgan BC, who rely on fan word of mouth, touring and marketing/sales expertise as they receive little or no radio or TV support, it is key that the 100% support and implementation of our visual marketing campaigns internationally is both effective and enthusiastic and Fried Puppy Dog Discs and their Worldwide affiliates have always fulfilled this. So with this new type of deal in place, it makes absolute sense for us to continue and extend our relationship in what is effectively a new period for the music industry.”
Co-manager Major Hoople added, “The industry is changing all around us so I’m delighted that we’ve been able to sign this deal with Fried Puppy Dog Discs which brings us even closer together and gives Rex Morgan BC new opportunities in these wider areas.”
“Since the late eighties Rex Morgan BC has been a flagship band for Fried Puppy Dog Discs and we have enjoyed a fantastic long term relationship. Now that we can work with and support them in their broader music activities, our goal is to help build on the foundations already in place for an even more successful future” an unnamed Fried Puppy Dog Discs spokesman said before adding “Let’s face it — they ain’t going anywhere else!”
